From EURO 2000 to 2025.
In 2000, the world watched Italy step onto the pitch in the tight, elastic Kombat™ – a jersey that broke every rule in football design. Twenty-five years later, Kappa relives that disruption with Kombat XXV, a 2025 edition built for collectors, fans and anyone who remembers the revolution that started it all.

When Kappa introduced the Kombat™ at Euro 2000, football changed overnight. The tight, hyper-elastic fit and “stop-stopping” fabric offered up to 30 cm of stretch – enhancing movement and exposing shirt-pulling fouls that used to go unnoticed. What began as a performance innovation quickly became a cultural one, inspiring every modern slim-fit kit that followed.
Honouring it’s roots with a refined compression fit and a fabric engineered for elasticity and breathability. Every jersey comes in a sealed foil bag inspired by vintage trading card packs – a nod to nostalgia and collectibility. The global collection spans Fiorentina, Genoa, Vasco da Gama, Racing Club and other partner clubs, each wearing their own version of the legend.

Djibril Cissé isn’t just a footballer from the Kombat™ era – he’s one of the few who made the shirt look like couture. His off-pitch expression, tattoos, dyed hair and unapologetic confidence made him a style icon long before football fashion had a name. By leading Kombat XXV, Cissé brings back that visual attitude that turned heads in 2000, reminding fans that performance and personality can exist in the same frame.

The Kappa Kombat XXV 25th Anniversary Collection rolls out globally through November and December, beginning with Genoa on November 5, followed by Fiorentina, Vasco da Gama, Racing Club, and others through November 11. The final drop – OGC Nice’s edition arrives December 5.
Each jersey is packaged in sealed collector-style foil and launches via kappa.com and select global partners, marking 25 years of the design that changed football forever.
