Leaning into Lunar New Year symbolism.
Adidas has officially unveiled Manchester United’s 2026 Lunar New Year collection, built around the Chinese lucky knot symbol rather than the zodiac animal of the year. It is a small capsule, but conceptually sharp, using cultural symbolism to frame the drop as celebration, not costume.

Instead of leaning on the obvious zodiac reference, this collection centres a recognisable piece of Eastern visual language: the Chinese knot. That decision gives the range a more timeless cultural anchor, while still letting United’s identity do the heavy lifting through its core colours.
The palette stays true to United with red and black, elevated by gold logos and detailing, a nod to festival colour traditions where gold is linked with wealth and prosperity. The lucky knot pattern is woven throughout the range as a subtle but consistent visual anchor, keeping the theme cohesive across different silhouettes.

The collection is built around four main pieces: a red jersey, a black hoodie, a reversible jacket, and black pants with gold patterning down the leg. The reversible jacket is framed as the hero item, offering two distinct looks in one, with black and gold on one side and a red and gold inner side featuring a Red Devil crest and lucky knot pattern across the chest.
Available from 15 December 2025, positioning it perfectly for Lunar New Year lead-in.
